A Wedding That Reflects You

"Whether it's your first wedding, a second chance at love, or a celebration of life together — your day should feel authentic, joyful and entirely yours."

Why Mature Weddings Deserve Something Different

Not every couple wants a DJ shouting into the microphone or playing the same party hits on repeat. Many of the couples I work with are looking for something more elegant, relaxed, and personalised.

You may want fewer formalities and more connection. You might be blending families or celebrating a new chapter. Whatever your reason — I'm here to help you create a day that feels effortless, enjoyable, and special.

A Calmer, More Considered Approach

Wedding Party Introductions

A special moment of warmth and connection that celebrates the important people in your life.

What Are Wedding Party Introductions?

Wedding Party Introductions are mini moments of celebration delivered right before your Grand Entrance into the wedding breakfast. They shine a joyful spotlight on the people closest to you—children, best mates, lifelong friends, grandchildren, siblings—and they do it with warmth, charm, and a healthy dose of humour.

But these aren't stiff announcements. They're short, witty, heartfelt stories that share a glimpse into who these people really are—why they matter, how they've shaped your life, and what makes them brilliant. It's like giving each one a standing ovation before the wine kicks in.

When Do They Happen?

Just before the Grand Entrance—often after guests are seated and before the meal begins. It sets the tone, lifts the room, and gets everyone talking and smiling.

Why They're So Powerful at Mature Weddings

Many mature couples have blended families, wider social circles, or guests who might not all know each other. These introductions are brilliant conversation starters. They create connection, break the ice, and add a bespoke, joyful moment of theatre that guests remember long after the cake's been cut.

Sample Introductions

Judy & Graham

Music: "Come On Eileen" – Dexys Midnight Runners

MC INTRO (spoken):

"They met in the 80s, bonded over shoulder pads and suede shoes, and have been partners in crime ever since. One still thinks avocado is exotic, and the other has recently discovered emojis and is using them with... gusto. They've raised kids, hosted barbecues, and made every party feel like a family reunion. They're the kind of friends who always turn up with wine and wisdom. Please put your hands together for the ever-glamorous, ever-game..."

MUSIC CUE: (Dexys blasts in)

[They enter to cheers and possibly some spontaneous dad-dancing.]

Sarah

Music: "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" – Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell

MC INTRO (spoken):

"She's the bride's sister, lifelong best friend, and—depending who you ask—the better cook. She's weathered the 90s perms, teenage tantrums, and one particularly memorable caravan holiday. She's fiercely loyal, effortlessly stylish, and has supported today's couple every step of the way—sometimes quite literally with a walking stick in hand. Let's hear it for the woman who's seen it all and still shows up with a smile..."

MUSIC CUE: (Motown magic)

[Sarah enters, waving like a pageant queen, getting teary already.]

The Grandkids – Lily & Max

Music: "Happy" – Pharrell Williams

MC INTRO (spoken):

"They've taken today very seriously—Max ironed his own shirt, and Lily has rehearsed her smile in the mirror 74 times. They're the flower girl and page boy, part-time mischief-makers and full-time stars of Granny and Grandad's hearts. Let's welcome the real VIPs..."

MUSIC CUE: (Happy plays)

[They toddle in to a sea of 'Awwws', cameras flashing, and grandparents beaming.]

What Is a Love Story?

A Love Story isn't just for young love—it's for real love. The kind that comes after life's twists and turns. Whether it's your second chance, your soulmate found later, or just "finally the right time," your story is rich, meaningful, and utterly yours.

I help you both reflect—separately—on how you met, what brought you together, and why this chapter matters so deeply. Then I craft your memories, laughter, and love into a spoken story that's shared with your guests on the day. It's always heartfelt. Sometimes hilarious. Often unforgettable.

Here's an example from a fictional couple in their fabulous 50s:

🎙️ The Love Story of Linda & Graham

Linda and Graham first met at a charity quiz night in 2017. Neither of them had planned to go. Linda was roped in by her sister. Graham had promised his friend Brian there'd be curry. Spoiler: there was no curry.

They were sat at the same table. Linda had the correct answer for every question involving Shakespeare. Graham kept shouting out answers before the host had finished speaking. "Loud," Linda called him. "Confident," Graham claims.

Their paths crossed again a few weeks later—at the same café. Graham was reading The Guardian. Linda was reading The Times. She remembers thinking, "Hmm. Opposites attract."

Their first proper date was a walk around Richmond Park. Linda brought sandwiches. Graham brought enthusiasm and got chased by a swan.

They both say they weren't expecting love at that point in their lives. They'd both been married before. Had grown-up kids. Had careers, mortgages, broken hearts, and full diaries. But it was easy. Natural. Real.

Graham proposed on a trip to Florence. Not in front of the cathedral or on the romantic bridge at sunset—but over breakfast in a quiet backstreet café, with Linda holding a croissant and wearing no makeup. He looked at her and said, "I don't want another decade without you in it."

Linda said yes. Then told him he'd better be serious.

Today, Graham says Linda is the love he didn't know he was still allowed to find. Linda says Graham makes her laugh, makes her safe, and makes her late to everything—but worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we skip traditional wedding moments?

Absolutely. Many of my mature couples choose to do things their own way — and I'll help guide that process respectfully.

What if we want a low-key evening?

That's perfectly fine. Some couples prefer background music and gentle dancing over a loud party. I'll help you set the right mood.

Can we involve our children or grandchildren?

Yes — I've often helped include family members in Grand Entrances, readings, or other special moments. It's your day, your way.

Will our music be appropriate for our guests?

Absolutely. With over 2,500 weddings behind me, I know how to read a room and build a playlist that suits everyone — without clichés or cheesiness.
