LGBTQ Weddings
Gay Weddings
I have been performing at gay weddings and civil partnerships since 2005, all around the UK, for gay and lesbian couples.
I know the importance of some of the small things a DJ not experienced in LGBTQ weddings might slip up on, such as saying:
- Introducing the couple as "Bride and groom"
- Repeatedly addressing the audience as "ladies and gentlemen"
- Announcing the first dance as "Mr & Mrs..." through sheer habit.
In 2021 I was asked to DJ for the LGBT Conference in central London, and have done over 200 weddings for LGBTQ couples.
In many ways I prefer the gay weddings I do to straight weddings, because every gay wedding without exception has been a lot of fun. There is just a different atmosphere about them. I'm generalising a little, but on the whole I've found that typically a much higher percentage of the guests dance.
- I can offer you lots of ideas for how to customise/personalise your wedding.
- We can meet in person over a coffee, or via zoom. Whichever you prefer.
