5 tips for choosing your accessories:

Firstly, don’t leave it until the last minute! Give yourself enough time to look around and find a designer that you connect with and whose ‘signature’ you love and then check their lead times. Many designers make to order which gives you a great deal of flexibility in tweaking design details but also means that pieces may not be available ‘off the peg’.

If you can, go and meet the designer and chat through your ideas and the details of your wedding: dress design, colours, theme, flowers, season, etc. Make use of this opportunity to try on lots of different designs. Choosing your accessories is much like choosing your dress, you may know exactly what you want but there is no harm in trying on lots of different styles, it will either help to confirm your original choice or you may surprise yourself and fall in love with a piece you hadn’t even considered! If you are not sure, ask your designer’s advice and don’t be afraid to ask about a bespoke piece, they are not always as prohibitively expensive as you might think.

Choose one accent piece and pare down your other accessories, if you have chosen a statement headpiece then choose some delicate co-ordinating jewellery that won’t fight for attention. Likewise, if you are having an elaborate Juliet cap veil then you may not need any other hair accessories at all.

Don’t neglect your back! Remember that on your wedding day your guests will often be looking at you from behind so if your dress doesn’t have any back details it might be worth considering a back necklace or a headpiece that will look beautiful from all angles.

Personalise your look with a bespoke veil. While many brides are happy to wear the veil that is suggested when they buy their dress (and of course some choose to not wear a veil at all), more and more brides are wanting to choose their own veil. All of our veils are available in a wide variety of fabrics, shades, styles and lengths, so whether you are contemplating a regal cathedral length veil or a boho style Juliet cap veil there really is a veil for everyone!
